IS OUR LAND IN CRISIS?

IS OUR LAND IN CRISIS?

Is our Land in Crisis?

Die Coat of Arms se wie se land die is.

But, with the land in the hand, of the man with rand, sal ons ooit “Land” kan sien?
Ons voor ouers was eerste hier gewees, die plek, hier onder by die Afrika tip was altyd ons “Joint” gewees.

With a novel shared directive and a striking charm upon the vastness of this land.

With the reckless and careless extraction of our mineral wealth, and we as a nation relegated to the margins and sides as mere on-lookers, what are the implications of our economic trajectory?

Elke dag stuur hulle iron ore, diamante, goud en platinum na die uit hoeke van die aarde, ma ons, ja ons sien en kry niks nie.

You continue to steal our assets.

Nou is daar ewe skielik vyf Khoi en San groepe. Maar hoe het ons dan vyf geword?
Verstaan julle nie dat solank hulle julle vyf groepe maak, sal ons nooit n regte deal kan “Cut” nie.

This rift and rule bring divide and bull.

Where do we stand as the first people of the southern slope of this exquisite continent?

Ou Mandela en die current government weet almal wat die waarheid is, ma niemand breek n tak nie, even though our origin is clear for all to see, we are still made coloureds.
Technically, we are black, Practically we’re not.

Nou kom ek se gou, dat on the 4th & 22nd November 1497 het die Khoikhoi by daai plek wat nou St.Helena Bay & Mossel Bay is, oorlog gevoer met die Portuguese Vasco Da Gama because hulle wou fresh water without asking the Chief’s permission vat, Da Gama was wounded in the thigh with a spear.
Ons groot leier, Khoikhoi Chief Autshumayo fought the first battles of the illegal land seizure by Capitalist Globalization DEIC (Dutch East India Company) agent Jan Van Riebeeck in 1659.

We are not Black

We shouted “Viva”; we marched to the Union Buildings,
Our language is irrelevant
Our colour, it’s just not right,
Our surnames are wrong
And we are not Black

We were led to believe
That together we shall govern
Instead they use us for window dressing
It is clear, evident
We are not Black

We come from a history,
We view the comrades as ‘Paragons’
We expected an all-inclusive metamorphosis
We thought society would change into a new creation,
We would fit in’
We were fooled-misled,
We are not Black

Instead we are pushed around,
We are labelled as ‘Coloreds’
We are made to believe that we are beneficiaries of the past regime,
But who are we really?

Tossed between identities and sides
Indoctrinated by the Verwoerd’s,
And now betrayed by our “Comrades”
The writing is on the wall,
We are not Black

Oh how carnal could men be!

 But…

Take courage, oh children of the soil of Africa,
Take courage original inhabitants of the Southern tip of Africa,
Take courage my beloved children of Harry die Strand Loper, Sara Baartman, Boesman, Khoi, San, Griqua, Malay, Hottentots’……..
We will inherit our land,

Although we’re not “Black”.

We are not Black is a Poem that attempts to get the “Bruin-Mense” talking. We do not expect the Government to do any thing until we function as a Collective and Speak with one Voice and Respect our Pioneers….

To my wife (Theoline), Bruin-Mense (Bruin-Africans) across the world.
May we come to our senses and never again be in humane again. We (Bruin-Mense) want to forget the pass but we should not. It is critical be a collective, that’s how we’ll transform our society, country and the world. Africa needs every African to transform it.
